Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country musician and singer whose tales of young heartache achieved widespread popularity in the first decade of the 20th century. Swift was a fan of music from a young age, and quickly moved from roles in theatre for children to her first appearance before a crowd of thousands. Swift was eleven years old when she sang The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers Basketball game. Following that she started writing her own songs and got a guitar. She drew inspiration from the popular country artists like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original songs that were a reflection of her own experiences of being a tween and feeling alienated. Swift was just thirteen when her parents made the decision to sell their Pennsylvania farm to relocate to Hendersonville Tennessee. She could dedicate all her energy to approaching country labels located in Nashville.
